It is with mixed emotions that I am announcing the retirement of everybody's favorite ring boy, Logan Wiens. Logan was the ring bearer in 4 weddings.
The first was when he was just over a year old, for good friends of ours, Justin & Jessiya Rider. He wasn't walking yet, so the cutest little flower girl pulled Logan down the aisle in a little red wagon.
All three of us were in the wedding, how sharp do we look in our coordinating outfits?
A year later Logan was the ring bearer for Louis & Niki Brandsma, more really good friends of ours.
Louis & Niki got married outside at Baker park, down by the Bow River. Logan had to go down what felt like miles of stairs. But he did it! He walked down the entire thing, with just a short break to sit down and wipe the sweat off his forehead.
He didn't last very long up front though. I tried to keep him entertained at my seat with all sorts of goodies.. but after a while, we had to get up and go play in the fields.
This past December he was the ring bearer for his aunt and uncle, Robyn & Brian Mol. They got married New Year's Eve, in -27 degree weather.
Third time's the charm as they say. He walked the aisle like a pro and stood up front with the guys like a little man.
And most recently, this past weekend, Logan was the ring bearer for my cousin Chris and his new bride, Robbi-Lynn.
The wedding was in Malakwa BC. Unfortunately it rained all weekend.. including the day of the wedding, which was held OUTSIDE. But, Logan still walked down the aisle, carrying the rings tyed to one of his favorite things, a hockey stick! He stood upfront, sans umbrella, for a long time until we locked eyes and he said "I'm done!". He then came and sat on our laps, and when Chris & Robbi kissed he yelled out "He shoots, he SCORES!"
So four weddings in three years. And thankfully, there was no screaming or crying before, during or after any of them. I think we have a professional in our midst. Unfortunately, I think his days are numbered. All of our family members and close friends (who would ask Logan) are married. It was a good run... but now we move on to bigger and better things... potty training.

i can't believe how little he was when we got married!!
Good luck with the potty training! While Logan was so admirably doing his job as ring bearer, we were enjoying Katie all to ourselves. Such precious kids!!!!!!
great post, Mandee. Totally Logan to say, "He shoots, he scores!!". That's a great line!
