3 Months

Life is so much easier at three months than it was before!! Booger (as we like to call him) is a MUCH easier baby now! He no longer screams just for the sake of screaming. He only cries when he's hungry or when he's tired... two very easy things to fix!

He also follows a pretty set schedule now:

  • Wake up between 8:00 and 9:00 and have breakfast. We usually go for a 1/2 hour walk with Dukie after we've eaten.
  • Nap from 10:00 - 11:30 or 12:00 then have lunch.
  • We usually have a bath around 12:30 or 1:00... which he LOVES!! He kicks and kicks his legs and squaks and squeals through the entire thing!
  • Afternoon Nap from 2:00 - 3:30 or 4:00 (this nap's length varies the most depending on what we did in the afternoon... for example, if it was a pretty low key day and we just stayed at home, it'll be much shorter than if we spent the afternoon running around doing errands.) Then an afternoon snack.
  • Logan will play in his swing or excersaucer while I make dinner... depending on how he slept earlier in the day he might go down for another short nap. But usually he's pretty content and stays awake.
  • Logan will "watch" some TV with Mark and I in the evening. (All of a sudden Booger has discovered the TV. He sits there and stares at it wide eyed. Mark and I doubt this is good for him... so we try to limit how long he stares at the "boob toob".)
  • He'll have a bed time snack around 8:00pm and then will go to bed.
  • Depending on how sound he's been sleeping, I'll either top him off before I go to bed between 10:30-11:00 or I'll go to bed and see how long he goes. The longest stretch we've had lately is only 6 hours. And for the past couple of nights Logan has been waking up every two hours and crying. I let him cry a bit and hope he falls back asleep, but normally either Mark or I will end up going in his room to pop his soother back in. He'll then normally go back to sleep for another hour or two.

Yesterday we went to the clinic to have his 2 month immunizations done (we're a little behind schedule!!) He weighs 15 (almost 16) pounds and measured 25 and a bit inches long. He was in the 90th percentile for both his weight and height. Booger fell asleep on my lap while the nurse did my flu shot and explained each of Logan's needles. He cried when injected with each shot, but only opened his eyes long enough to give the nurse a dirty, dirty look and then fell right back asleep (where as all the other babies were screaming bloody murder!!) Everyone was very impressed with how tough he was!! But boy was he cranky for the rest of the day!!! Luckily today he is in a MUCH better mood!

Today we also went and saw Dr. Bennion for Logan's 3 month check up. Again, almost 16 pounds and on the 90th percentile for both weight and height. She checked him all out and he's good to go until his 6 month check up.

And I thought I would end with a picture Kristina took of Logan and Cameron. Although they are four months apart, they are almost the same size!!

Logan's Room

I've been meaning to put some pictures of Logan's room up for a while... but it was never clean enough!! But thankfully Mark had today off of work, so I got some time to clean it. His room is super tiny, so there is no possible angle to take a picture of the whole room. So here are just a bunch of little pictures:

Logan's bed and a sign I fell in love with at E-children.

I also saw this growth chart at E-Children and thought it matched Logan's room pretty well.

Logan's closet... which is busting at the seams!!

Pictures of Logan and his baseball caps

Logan's bookshelf with his teddy bears, books and figurines.

Jessiya made this cross stitch for Logan when he was born

Logan's rocking chair that Auntie Geraldine made for him

This is Logan's dresser/change table. Right before I went to take the picture Logan decided to poop on the change pad cover... hence the plain white plastic.

Randoms from this week

I put Logan in his Excersaucer for the first time this week. Although he really doesn't do much, he seems to really like it! After a while though he tends to get tired from holding his big, fat head up, so we put Mickey Mouse in with him for support. He's slowly learning to reach out and grab the toys.

Yesterday Robyn was playing at Mount Royal, so we went to cheer her on. Logan screamed through the first set and then fell asleep on Lindsay's lap. I guess he's not much of a volleyball fan yet... but that will change!

Since it was so nice and warm out today (like 16 degrees!!) we took Duke for a walk at Edworthy Park. Again, Duke went psycho and ran nonstop! But this time he listened much better and actually came when called. I don't think its that he's trying to run away from us, I just think he's too stupid to remember which way we were going... he normally get's confused and starts following the wrong people. Logan sat happily in the stroller the whole time and said "hi" to lots of puppies.

M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E!

"It's a small world after all! It's a small world after all... it's a small world after all, it's a small, small world!"
"Yo ho, Yo ho, a pirate's life for me!!"
That's pretty much all we've sung for the past couple of days.. disney theme songs. And I'll admit, I'm a little disney-ed out! We had a super busy, action packed, but AMAZINGLY fun time at Disney! We arrived in Los Angeles around noon on Saturday. We picked up our sweet 15 passengar Bethel rental van (we originally had rented just a mini van, but had sooooo much luggage we needed to take out the "big guns".) On the way to our hotel we stopped at Redondo (or RED-ON-DUE beach as my dad called it) so Brian could check out the beach (he had never been to "the beach" before.) And even though he was almost blown away by the wind, he was pretty much in awe!

We then went and checked into our hotel, the Ramada Main Gate (right across from Disneyland). The hotel was pretty nice. The rooms were nothing fancy, but it had a free continental breakfast, a great outdoor heated pool and it was only a 5 minute walk to the park gates. We sat around the pool for a while and enjoyed the nice warm weather (it was well in the 80's every day!) Logan went swimming for the first time... but the poor little guy was too sick to enjoy it. (Friday afternoon he came down with a horrible cold. He wouldn't smile, talk, or even cry! His nose was all plugged up, his eyes all red and puffy and he had an awful sounding cough. I gave him tyenol cold and thankfully he was all better by Sunday!) That night we walked through Downtown Disney and went to Tony Roma's for dinner.

Saturday morning the sergent general (my mom) made sure we were all up and ready to be at Disneyland by 8am. We spent the entire day there riding pretty much every ride. My personal favorites were Space mountain, Indiana Jones, Thunder mountain, Splash mountain (where we got in trouble for rocking our boat and Brian got SOAKING wet!!) the Madhatter tea cups, the Rockets and the Matterhorn. Pretty much all of the more "rollar coaster" type rides. (I think Mark would agree those were his favorite too.) Logan was pretty content staying in his stroller the whole day. He did get to ride Buzz Light Year's Astro Blasters, the Jungle Cruise and the Haunted House (which he screamed through the entire ride! It was just too scary I guess!) Opa also bought him a pair of Mickey Mouse ears... which look so cute on him!

The park was SUPER busy - I guess a lot of Canadians had the same idea as us and came down for Thanksgiving... that and there were a BUNCH of people in Disney for the "Gay Days in Anaheim" convention. None of us have ever seen soooo many gay people in our entire lives!! They were all wearing red shirts and publicly holding hands (and some even making out). It was... interesting and became the butt of most of our jokes. Mark, Brian and my dad all refused to wear red shirts for the duration of the trip!

Monday we went to California Adventure. I think Mark enjoyed this park much more than Disney as it is mainly all rollar coasters (and it wasn't near as busy as Disneyland was). They have one coaster called "The Screamer" that we rode like 8 times in a row. It was pretty scary, but we managed to convince even my mom to ride it. There is a VERY scary ferris wheel in California Adventure too... that was my LEAST favorite ride. I've always had a phobia of ferris wheels (weird, I know..) but this one your cart swings back and forth on! I practically cried. Another great ride there was the Tower of Terror, we did that one several times as well. Logan played dress up and tried on a bunch of different hats. We headed back to the hotel around 3pm to sit around the pool for a couple of hours before heading back to the parks to do some of our favorite rides again. Robyn and Brian went back to California Adventure to do the rollar coasters again, while the rest of us went and walked down mainstreet. We all met back up at the IHOP for a late dinner at 10:00pm after the parks closed. Let's just say we were all pooped at the end of that looooong day!

(Logan enjoying his first french fry)

(My boys all tuckered out after some long days at Disney)

Tuesday morning Mark, Logan and I went with my mom and dad to exchange our sweet 15 passengar van for a smaller car. (Although they were out of cars, so we ended up with an AWESOME Jeep Commander. If I were buying a new car, it would definately be one of those!) We then dropped my mom and dad off at their cruise ship. They are now on a 17 day cruise through the Panama Canal with Uncle Bill & Auntie Wilma and Uncle Jim & Auntie Anita. After we had pizza with Robyn and Brian back at the hotel the five of us headed down to Huntington Beach. We had barely parked and Brian was already booking it down to the water. He spent the entire time playing in the waves - and even though it was only 68 degrees and the water was FREEZING, he managed to sucker Robyn in to swimming with him. We spent the afternoon there hanging out at the beach, watching dolphins jump right out of the water infront of us. For supper we used the GPS to find a PF Changs. (Except the only PF Changs we could find was in Newport (home of the television show The OC).... and even with our sweet Jeep Commander we really didn't fit in! That is one RICH community!!) When we got back to Anaheim we walked around Downtown Disney for a bit, came back to the hotel and got ready to leave the next morning.

We had a great time in Disney! Thank you Mom and Dad for such an awesome trip! Hope you're having fun on your cruise!

Fall!

I love the fall pictures of Tyler & Graham on Karen's blog, so yesterday I made Mark come with us to Edworthy Park so we could take some of our own! It was pretty chilly out... and Duke was VERY excited about being at the park (meaning he was going PSYCHO), but we did our best.

I also just want to say a quick thank-you to all the ladies from Emmanuel for throwing such a wonderful baby shower for Logan last night! We had such a great time and were so overwhelmed by all of your generosity! Logan was spoiled with gifts! Thank you so much!
