Dirty Bird Wash

Although I whine and complain about having to go to work, Westjet is actually a pretty sweet company to work for. Besides the obvious travel priveleges and profit share, they're always hosting fun events for their employees. Tonight Mark and I took the kids to Westjet's "Dirty Bird Wash". The Dirty Bird Wash is a chance for everyone to get up close and personal with one of the Westjet planes and help "scrub" the aircraft clean. So essentially, its a gigantic waterfight! Logan had a BLAST and came home soaking wet!

The airplane was a little late coming in this year, so we had a chance to check out all the other fun stuff in the hangar.

Logan, the future pilot!

Eating free food!

Bouncy castles!

Waiting for the plane to arrive

I see the plane!

Mark's "Why do I always go along with her ideas?" look

See? Katie and I were there too!

Mark spraying all the soap off of Logan at the end of the night.

Happy 4th Birthday Duke!

Yes.... I am one of those people who throw birthday parties for their pets. Yes... I went to the dollar store and loaded up on party hats, balloons and decorations. Yes.... I made Duke a special birthday dinner AND birthday cake. Yes.... I know thats really dorky, but I really love my dog!

But not everyone feels the same way about their party hats as I feel about Duke...

But, everyone loved birthday cake!

Nobody liked mom trying to take their picture (and NOBODY looked at the camera all at the same time!)

But EVERYONE liked presents!

And Balloons!

(Please don't call the SPCA on me... I really didn't make Duke wear the hat ALL night, and the cake wasn't chocolate!)

A typical Sunday afternoon...

A lot of our Sunday afternoons are spent at my parents' house. Since they live just down the street from us, we usually walk over there and invite ourselves in. (Whether they like it or not!)

During the summer we always sit outside in their backyard on their patio. And thats not only so we can enjoy their awesome backyard, but so that we can keep an eye on Logan. Logan loves their backyard. Well, more like he LOVES whats in their garage... sports equipment! He hauls out the wagon full of basketballs, volleyballs, golfballs, tennis balls, etc and goes to town! However, this year has been all about BASEBALL! Logan is a baseball fanatic! He loves it almost as much as he loves hockey... almost.

Mom and dad have a fisher price baseball pitching toy, but Logan much prefers dragging one of us out onto the lawn to pitch for him.

I love how hard he concentrates!

And man, can Logan spank that ball! He once hit it straight at Mark's chest and gave him a giant red welt! When Logan gets a great hit he throws down his bat, yells "HOME RUN!" and proceeds to "run the bases"... run around in a circle. And his running is HILARIOUS! His elbow are so high and swing back and forth almost violently!

Logan's only rule in baseball.... the more the merrier! The more people Logan can coherce off the patio and onto the lawn, the happier he is!
